In 2011, St. George’s received their first bequest from Claire Schamm, a retired teacher who had recently passed away. While Claire did not have an immediate connection with St. George’s she had met with school officials and board members and included the school in her estate to support and further the mission and sustainability of a young independent school. The planned giving society was named the Clanlo Society, which is a combination of the first names of Claire, her sister Ann, and their mother Lois. If you would like more information about including St. George’s in your future plans through bequests, trusts, and other types of planned gift contact the Advancement Office at (901) 261-2385 for more information.
While unrestricted gifts allow the board maximum flexibility to direct funds where they are most needed, we also welcome gifts earmarked for certain areas such as athletics, the arts, or library. If you would like more information about supporting specific programs contact the Advancement Office at 901.261.2385.
