New Family Scholarship for Middle School Students

Thanks to the generous donors who support this fund, St. George's is offering scholarships for $3,000 to NEW families with high-achieving students entering grades 6-8. These scholarships are awarded based on merit, rather than financial need.

How to Apply

Prospective families who wish to apply, must complete the admission application on the Veracross Portal AND the scholarship application below. Scholarships are renewed annually (through grade 8) as long as the student continues to meet the scholarship criteria. Scholarship applications are currently being considered on a rolling basis through the start of school in August; however, the number of scholarships awarded annually are limited. We encourage you to apply as soon as possible.

When will families be notified about scholarship decisions?

Families will be notified on February 19, 2021. For those applying after the January 15 deadline, we will send notifications on a rolling basis through August 1, 2021.

Can I apply for a scholarship in addition to need-based financial aid?

Yes, although the programs are completely separate and require different applications. Contact the Admissions Office with questions.

I already have a child at SGIS. Can I apply for a scholarship for my other child, who is currently going through the admission process?

No, per the donors' intent, families must be new to St. George’s.

Can a returning SGIS student apply for the scholarship?

No, per the donors' intent, families must be new to St. George’s.

My child received a New Family Scholarship. What are the criteria to maintain the award through middle school?

To continue receiving the award through middle school, students must be positive contributors to the life of the school through their pursuits of academics, culture, spiritual life, friendship, leadership, good decision-making, athletics, service, and/or student organizations.
