Collierville Campus Archaeology Dig (grades 9-12)

In this full-day program, students will conduct the first real archaeological dig on the St. George's Collierville Campus under the direction of archaeologist Dr. Corin Pursell. Students will learn how archaeologists conduct their research and will excavate actual historic materials on the property. We will learn unknown parts of our own history. Expect to get dirty.

Amplify Memphis (grades 9-12)

Amplify Memphis is a three-week, full-day summer program for high school students who wish to take an active role in investing in our dynamic city of Memphis. Learning will be active and experiential, focusing on civic engagement, exploring dynamic neighborhoods, and interacting with Memphians of all stripes. Through targeted readings, students will examine a range of models for building urban ecosystems where communities thrive. In the true spirit of citizenship, students will engage in the process of experiential design, with collaborative groups ideating and prototyping their own innovative solutions. There will likely be an opportunity for the cohort to have a portion of the course include overnight residence at "The Bunkhouse" near Rhodes College. The fee includes all transportation and materials costs. Upon completion of the course, students will receive a semester course credit on their transcript. Students should bring a bagged lunch or money to buy lunch each day.

SGGO Summer Colorado Trip (grades 7-9)

Join us for the second annual middle school St. George’s Great Outdoors’ (SGGO) trip to Colorado. We will whitewater raft, rock climb and rappel, backpack, and enjoy an aerial adventure park. This trip is limited to 10 students and will be filled on a first come, first served basis.

Ruffin Basketball Camp (grades 8-12)

Gryphon Basketball Camp will provide quality instruction to young men interested in learning and practicing the various basketball fundamentals. Campers will have the opportunity to display their skills in competitions, such as five-on-five games. SGIS coaches, current Gryphon varsity players, and additional area coaches will be on hand. We will work to improve each young man’s knowledge of the game, understanding of sportsmanship, and development of overall skill level, all while ensuring that each camper has a great time playing the game. The Gryphon basketball ball team looks forward to having you this summer! What to bring: Wear basketball shoes, shorts, t-shirt, and socks. You may either bring a lunch or purchase one from the concession stand.

Girls Basketball Camp (grades 8-12)

Whether you are new to basketball or wish to improve your game, this camp is for you! The Lady Gryphon varsity coaches will work with you to improve all of your basketball skills and techniques. You’ll leave camp more confident in the game and with a list of drills you can do at home.

Flea Market Flip Camp

Are you a fan of HGTV’s Flea Market Flip? Even if you’ve never heard of it, you’ll still love this camp! As a camper, you will spend the week renovating small furniture pieces and creating other craft projects from reclaimed wood. You can bring your own furniture piece to restore or choose from an assortment that will be provided. Either way, it’s yours to keep! No prerequisite skills required, but be prepared to do some sanding, painting, refinishing, hammering, and much more! Things might get messy, so wear old clothes!

Jazz and Jam: All About the Blues (grades 6-12)

Jazz and Jam is an intensive summer experience that offers students the opportunity to unleash their musical beast! All skill and experience levels from first timer to rock star are welcome. Students will learn the fundamentals of the blues, which is the bedrock of all the other styles. From blues to rock and jazz, you will learn the fundamentals of playing in a band and the secrets to improvising solos. We will work together to write and record original songs, and will finish the week with a performance for family and friends. This camp is open to any instruments and voices.
