Does your child love to get out and spend time in nature? This camp will introduce participants to our natural ecosystem on the Collierville campus wildlands. Campers will learn about plants and animals that live in our forests while learning skills and techniques to survive and be comfortable in the woods. There is also an option to participate in an overnight campout on Thursday night! We will focus on the themes of shelter, fire, food preparation, plants and animals of western Tennessee, and, of course, have fun. At the end of the week, participants will walk away with new skills, an appreciation for the ecosystem in which we live, and a survival kit they have created throughout the week. Details for camping out and items to bring will be included in an email that will be sent a week before camp begins. If you do not already have materials for camping out (sleeping bag, tent, etc.) you do not have to purchase them. We have extras!

Ruffin Basketball Camp (grades 4-7)

3D Video Game Animation (grades 2-6)

Join Mr. Chris Miller on a journey through some of the coolest spots in Memphis! The five-day tour includes trips to Graceland, Sun Studios, the National Civil Rights Museum, Gibson Guitar Studio, and Shelby Forest. Each day the group will dine at some of Mr. Miller’s favorite haunts - Uncle Lou’s Fried Chicken, the Arcade, and Cozy Corner. Bring your own lunch money...it’s going to be epic!

Drobots (grades 5-8)

Drone Racing is filled with pure action as students enjoy one of the world’s fastest growing sports, Drone Racing. Campers will first learn about the basic safety of drone flying and the history behind drone racing as a sport. From there, campers will progress through various skill challenges and learn how to perform various exercises and maneuvers to become familiar with the drone’s speed and agility. Flight squads post up against one another in friendly competition when they race themselves and the clock. Students first maneuver the drone through creative obstacle courses before taking on the challenge of flying for speed. Participants contribute fully in this program as they create the design and help build the the obstacle course in preparation for the last day’s final activities and competition.. All campers go home with interactive workbooks and plenty of Drobots Company keepsakes and trinkets so the memories last long beyond the summer. Drone safety and social responsibilities of flying are included in this program.  

Intro to French Cuisine (grades 6-8)

Yoga Camp (grades 2-6)

Yoga and mindfulness camp will teach children body and breath awareness. Children will learn how to move their bodies in safe ways, find their breath when they are outside their comfort zones, and focus on how they feel in their bodies instead of what they look like. We will learn calming techniques, how to move between activity and stillness, and teamwork through group poses. We will learn how to let our good qualities make the world a happier, healthier place. Each day will have a designated time for journaling and/or yoga-inspired art. Campers will leave with a solid yoga foundation of basic poses, a flow, and breathing and meditation techniques.

Lego Movie Magic (grades 2-8)

Learn to make a stop-motion animated film using LEGO® and other characters to tell a story. If you've ever wanted to direct your own movies or like making up stories, this camp is for you. Working in teams of two, you will use i-Pads and an animation application to create multi-scene movies with transitions, titles, credits, sound effects and narration. Design your own set with backgrounds, characters, and scenery. This is a great class to take with friends. No experience is necessary. Campers take home a CD with their movie at the end of the week.

Robots and Robots (grades 2-8)

Campers will use both the Dash robot as well as the Lego Mindstorms NXT robot. They will be learn to program their robots using both laptops and I-Pads. Campers will use their new skills to meet challenges such as using sensors to navigate through terrain or battling their opponent in Robot Sumo.

Battlebots camp will allow students the opportunity to design, build, program and control their own battlebot and compete in head-to -head competitions. Bring your game face….winner takes all!!

Gryphon Girl's Lacrosse Camp (grades 3-8)

Join St. George’s coaches and varsity players for lacrosse camp! Our goal is to improve personal and team skills, while we have fun. Younger players and beginners will learn basic skills such as throwing and catching, ground balls, player positions, and team skills. Older, more experienced players will improve their skills through scrimmage, non-dominant hand practice, as well as defensive and offensive positioning. Players will need a lacrosse stick, goggles, and a mouth guard (we will have a few extra sticks if your daughter is trying out the sport). Please provide plenty of water! The Lady Gryphon varsity coaches, along with other former college and professional players, will work with you to improve your basketball skills. Campers will be challenged with position drills, competitions, and full court scrimmages while having fun at the same time. Leave camp more confident in your game and with a host of drills to do at home to improve!

Flea Market Flip Camp

Are you a fan of HGTV’s Flea Market Flip? Even if you’ve never heard of it, you’ll still love this camp! As a camper, you will spend the week renovating small furniture pieces and creating other craft projects from reclaimed wood. You can bring your own furniture piece to restore or choose from an assortment that will be provided. Either way, it’s yours to keep! No prerequisite skills required, but be prepared to do some sanding, painting, refinishing, hammering, and much more! Things might get messy, so wear old clothes!

Jazz and Jam: All About the Blues (grades 6-12)

Jazz and Jam is an intensive summer experience that offers students the opportunity to unleash their musical beast! All skill and experience levels from first timer to rock star are welcome. Students will learn the fundamentals of the blues, which is the bedrock of all the other styles. From blues to rock and jazz, you will learn the fundamentals of playing in a band and the secrets to improvising solos. We will work together to write and record original songs, and will finish the week with a performance for family and friends. This camp is open to any instruments and voices.

The transition from 5th grade to 6th grade can feel like walking up a ramp, which can sometimes feel a bit steep. Sixth Grade Success is a week-long camp that is focused on specific organization and learning strategy skills that will help students make the transition to middle school more smoothly. Students will work with sixth grade teachers on areas to help them reach success in learning for sixth grade and a successful transition to a new campus, a different set of courses, and a larger community. Opportunities to develop new friendships will abound as well as the chance to build bridges through teamwork with students from the Germantown campus, Memphis campus, and new students who have been admitted to the school. By the end of the week, your child will feel confidence in being a part of the sixth grade community as the school year officially begins.
