Ultimate Drone Obstacle Challenge is specifically designed for both the novice and experienced drone enthusiasts. This is week is filled with pure action as students enjoy one of the world’s fastest growing sports, Drone Obstacle Racing. Campers will first learn about the basic safety of drone flying and the history behind drone racing as a sport. From there, campers will progress through various skill challenges and learn how to perform various exercises and maneuvers to become familiar with the drone’s speed and agility. Campers will use iPads and remote controls to navigate the drone through short and long obstacle courses. Participants will also create the design and help build the the obstacle course in preparation for the last day’s final activity and competition. All campers go home with interactive workbooks and plenty of Drobots Company keepsakes and trinkets so the memories last long beyond the summer. Drone safety and the social responsibilities of flying drones are included in this program.

Jedi Training (grades 1-4)

Intro to Drone Flying Missions is specifically designed for campers with little to no experience flying drones. We use the safest and most reliable drone products on the market, including the Parrot™ drones for enhanced safety and most of all, fun. Campers will learn the basics of drone technology and safety before taking to the air. Through the use of iPad flight simulators and clear instructions on basic flying maneuvers, young Drobots’ pilots will experience a program filled with excitement, games, challenges, and learning. Campers work all week long to prepare for the most enjoyable part of the week: the Ultimate Drone Games that include events such as: Tic-Tac-Drone, Drone Darts, Duck-Duck-Drone, and more. SGGO Woods and Water (grades 3-7)

Does your child love to get out and spend time in nature? This camp will introduce participants to our natural ecosystem on the Collierville campus wildlands. Campers will learn about plants and animals that live in our forests while learning skills and techniques to survive and be comfortable in the woods. There is also an option to participate in an overnight campout on Thursday night! We will focus on the themes of shelter, fire, food preparation, plants and animals of western Tennessee, and, of course, have fun. At the end of the week, participants will walk away with new skills, an appreciation for the ecosystem in which we live, and a survival kit they have created throughout the week. Details for camping out and items to bring will be included in an email that will be sent a week before camp begins. If you do not already have materials for camping out (sleeping bag, tent, etc.) you do not have to purchase them. We have extras!

Ruffin Basketball Camp (grades 4-7)

Gryphon Basketball Camp will provide quality instruction to young men interested in learning and practicing the various basketball fundamentals. Campers will have the opportunity to display their skills in competitions, such as five-on-five games. St. George’s coaches, current Gryphon varsity players, and additional area coaches will be on hand. We will work to improve each young man’s knowledge of the game, understanding of sportsmanship, and development of overall skill level, all while ensuring that each camper has a great time playing the game. We will have marshmallow science experiments, discover all of the forest animals playing in the woods, and create our own projects to take home. Each day we will have real camping equipment to complete our fun experience. Our group time will consist of a new book and dance song each day to help us get in the spirit of camping. At the end of the week, we will go on an exciting Bear Hunt to try and find all the forest animals we've learned throughout the week!

Once Upon A Time: Princesses & Super Heroes Unite (PK-SK)

We’ll discover the magical world of fairies through the work of author Tracy Kane and design our own individual fairy habitats. Each day, your daughter will explore the woods at St. George’s and expand upon her own creation, creating a perfect home for fairies, while gaining respect for nature and enjoying the outdoors. Activities include building fairy houses, painting fairy wall hangings, designing a take-home fairy garden, going on a scavenger hunt, and having a fairy picnic.

Grab your paint brush and get ready for your inner artist to bloom this summer! Young artists will explore many different mediums in this hands-on art camp. Students will create and work with different types of paints, oil pastels, mosaics, and weaving materials. BeezyBodies puts emphasis on developing creativity and imagination with a special focus on skill. Campers will explore pointillism, silhouettes, self-portraits, canvas painting, and many other unconventional art projects. Innovation: Let's Build Robots/Vex IQ Robotics (grades 2-5)

3D Video Game Animation (grades 2-6)

We will build multiple structures each day that are large enough for the kids to fit inside, such as, wagons, helicopters, fire trucks, picnic tables, rockets, and so much more. Each day we will work with different themes, for instance, sports, transportation, camping, flying, and community helpers. Without realizing it, campers will learn basic engineering, design, and architectural skills through building and connecting. A fizzing rainbow with baking soda & vinegar is just one on our list! We will learn the difference between primary and secondary colors and how they are created. We will also go on our very own Rainbow Scavenger Hunt and be surprised by the ordinary objects that can vary in color. To end the week, we will participate in a Color Fun Run on the field where we will be covered with different colors at stations along the run!

Yoga Camp (grades 2-6)

Yoga and mindfulness camp will teach children body and breath awareness. Children will learn how to move their bodies in safe ways, find their breath when they are outside their comfort zones, and focus on how they feel in their bodies instead of what they look like. We will learn calming techniques, how to move between activity and stillness, and teamwork through group poses. We will learn how to let our good qualities make the world a happier, healthier place. Each day will have a designated time for journaling and/or yoga-inspired art. Campers will leave with a solid yoga foundation of basic poses, a flow, and breathing and meditation techniques.

Learn to make a stop-motion animated film using LEGO® and other characters to tell a story. If you've ever wanted to direct your own movies or like making up stories, this camp is for you. Working in teams of two, you will use i-Pads and an animation application to create multi-scene movies with transitions, titles, credits, sound effects and narration. Design your own set with backgrounds, characters, and scenery. This is a great class to take with friends. No experience is necessary. Campers take home a CD with their movie at the end of the week.

Campers will learn about reading and playing drum rhythms, stick control, rudiments, proper technique, and teamwork. During the regular school year, the drum brigade will continue to learn and practice once a week after school. They will perform at various functions and activities, including open houses, Tough Enough, the talent show, and sporting events. To be a member of the group, students must participate in this camp. The transition from 5th grade to 6th grade can feel like walking up a ramp, which can sometimes feel a bit steep. Sixth Grade Success is a week-long camp that is focused on specific organization and learning strategy skills that will help students make the transition to middle school more smoothly. Students will work with sixth grade teachers on areas to help them reach success in learning for sixth grade and a successful transition to a new campus, a different set of courses, and a larger community. Opportunities to develop new friendships will abound as well as the chance to build bridges through teamwork with students from the Germantown campus, Memphis campus, and new students who have been admitted to the school. By the end of the week, your child will feel confidence in being a part of the sixth grade community as the school year officially begins.
