St. George's is offering two sessions of lifeguard certification classes for Spring 2018 in the Compton Aquatic Center on the Collierville campus. Students may be certified in Lifeguarding, CPR, First Aid, and the use of an AED by the American Red Cross. Upon course completion, students will be eligible for employment as a lifeguard. These courses are open to the public.
SESSION 1: March 19 — April 13 (M-F; 19 sessions)
2:45 — 3:45 pm (no class Friday, March 30)
Students must be 15 by April 13, 2018
SESSION 2: April 16 — May 4 (M-F; 19 sessions)
2:45 — 3:45 pm (no class on Friday, April 20)
Students must be 15 by May 4, 2018

All parents or guardians must complete and sign the following forms by the first day of class:
On the first day of class, students must pass a swim proficiency test, including swimming 300 yards, swimming 20 yards and retrieving a 10-pound object from a 10-foot depth, and treading water for two minutes without using hands. Students should bring a pen/notebook, a bathing suit, towel, cap and goggles (for the 300-yard swim), and dry clothes.
