St. George's Great Outdoors: Buffalo River Canoe Trip

Faculty Member: Bill McClain

Fee: $450

Grades: Coed, Rising 9-12

Join us for the adventure of a lifetime! St. George’s Great Outdoors is taking students canoeing down the Buffalo National River in northern Arkansas. The river cuts its way through massive limestone bluffs and offers some of the most beautiful scenery in the country. We will visit the tallest waterfall between the Rocky and Appalachian Mountain ranges. The trip requires participants to spend four days on the river, paddling as many as 11 miles in a single day. Participants must be in good physical shape, but canoeing and kayaking experience is not required. Each night we will camp in designated campgrounds run by the National Park Service or private businesses. Interested? Email Bill McClain at wmcclain@sgis.org for more information.
