Whether you are new to basketball or wish to improve your game, this camp is for you! The Lady Gryphon varsity coaches will work with you to improve all of your basketball skills and techniques. You’ll leave camp more confident in the game and with a list of drills that you can do at home.
Learn to make a stop-motion animated film using LEGO® and other characters to tell a story. If you've ever wanted to direct your own movies or like making up stories, this camp is for you. Working in teams of two, you will use i-Pads and an animation application to create multi-scene movies with transitions, titles, credits, sound effects and narration. Design your own set with backgrounds, characters, and scenery. No experience is necessary. Campers take home a CD with their movie at the end of the week.
Have you ever seen something on Pinterest and thought “How cool would it be if I could make this?” Well now you can! Join us as we do many fun things from creating our own “Pinterest” board to baking fun treats. Each day we will craft within our theme. At the end of the week we will unwind with a Pinterest inspired spa day!
Gryphon Basketball Camp will provide quality instruction to young men interested in learning and practicing the various basketball fundamentals. Campers will have the opportunity to display their skills in competitions, such as five-on-five games. St. George’s coaches, current Gryphon varsity players, and additional area coaches will be on hand. We will work to improve each young man’s knowledge of the game, understanding of sportsmanship, and development of overall skill level, all while ensuring that each camper has a great time playing the game. You don’t want to miss your chance to join Senora Garcia for a week of photography fun! Students will learn the basics of photography, serve as the official summer camp photographers, and will even get to take over the St. George’s Instagram for the week!
Campers will learn the science behind everything SPY in a clever mix of chemistry, physics and biology. Their activities include dusting for fingerprints, using microscopes to analyze evidence, extracting DNA and writing in invisible ink. They will even build intruder alarms and learn to crack secret codes. This camp is a perfect fit for super-spies and scientists alike! Become a secret spy and take a fascinating journey into the world of forensic science. Don’t forget to bring the perfect disguise!!!
Do you love going to the beach? Have you ever wondered what lives under the sea? We will read stories, sing songs, create projects and explore the sea with our technology and hands on learning. We will work together to complete simple science experiments and celebrate our last day with a wet, water day. At the end of this week your children will have a better understanding of the importance of protecting our oceans and the animals that live Under the Sea! Come join us!
Does your child love to get out and spend time in nature? This camp will introduce participants to our natural ecosystem on the Collierville campus wildlands. Campers will learn about plants and animals that live in our forests while learning skills and techniques to survive and be comfortable in the woods. There is also an option to participate in an overnight campout on Thursday night! We will focus on the themes of shelter, fire, food preparation, plants and animals of western Tennessee, and, of course, have fun. At the end of the week, participants will walk away with new skills, an appreciation for the ecosystem in which we live, and a survival kit they have created throughout the week. Details for camping out and items to bring will be included in an email that will be sent a week before camp begins. If you don't have a sleeping bag or tent...no worries, we have extras!
Spend a week learning to play one of America’s favorite sports - baseball! Knowledgeable staff will help younger players improve the basics of their game. We’ll focus on catching, throwing, hitting, bunting, and base running. We’ll also learn the basics of infield and outfield play.
Join Mrs. Tate in the Innovation Lab this summer as we work on fun projects that will get you thinking and imagining new ideas. We will print projects on 3D printers, put together a circuit to make a toy, and more! Each day is a new project that teaches a handy new skill you can use in future inventions. Bring your creative ideas, water bottle and a snack.
Do you love LEGOs AND making things work? Join Mrs. Tate in the Innovation Lab where we will use the LEGO WeDo 2.0 system to build projects you can code with an iPad. Want to make a car race when it senses a flag? You can do that! We will grow your child's understanding of how gears make their projects work, code their project to do cool things, and even use a sensor or two to add even more fun. We will also mix in a little old school LEGO and coding toys to round out the week. Bring a snack and a water bottle.
Come join SK teacher, Kristin Mauney, and learn about some of the people who make our community such a great place to live, work, and play. The camp will comprise of special activities, crafts, and games to help your little one understand what our firemen, policemen, and other community helpers do to keep us safe and help our community be the best that it can be. We’ll even have some special visits from a few surprise guests!
Awaken your child’s imagination along with her love for the outdoors at fairy house camp. We’ll discover the magical world of fairies through the work of author Tracy Kane and design our own individual fairy habitats. Each day, we will explore the woods at St. George’s, creating a perfect home for fairies, while gaining respect for nature and enjoying the outdoors. Activities include building fairy houses, painting fairy wall hangings, designing a take-home fairy garden, going on a scavenger hunt, and having a fairy picnic.
Join Mr. Chris Miller on a journey through some of the coolest spots in Memphis! The five-day tour includes trips to Graceland, Sun Studios, the National Civil Rights Museum, Gibson Guitar Studio, and Shelby Forest. Each day the group will dine at some of Mr. Miller’s favorite haunts - Uncle Lou’s Fried Chicken, the Arcade, and Cozy Corner. Bring your own lunch money...it’s going to be epic!
Through text work (scenes and monologues) designed for the young performer, we’ll make strong, specific, meaningful connection to the language and circumstances of the play, bringing the author’s words to life. Through acting, young people gain compassionate insight about themselves and about the world around them, gain poise and confidence, develop problem-solving skills, and engage with peers and mentors in a joyful, collaborative process. We will present short scenes and monologues in a relaxed performance at the end of the camp.
Our littlest people are invited to join Senora Garcia for a week of learning the basics of Spanish. In addition to adding words to their vocabulary, students will also learns the basics of Spanish culture and tradition. If your little one is interested in starting their language training early, this is a class you don’t want to miss!
Uno, dos, tres...jump in! During this week of “spanish immersion” students will grow in their Spanish vocabulary, confidence in speaking and translating Spanish, and will learn and experience different aspects of Spanish culture. And, the camp is taught by St. George’s own, Senora Garcia!
You don’t want to miss this one! As one of our most popular after-school classes, Happy Feet aims to initiate a love for soccer while teaching the most basic skills. Every child has a ball at their feet the entire class. HappyFeet uses nursery rhymes, songs, stories, and fun games with a soccer ball to maximize motor skill development. Two and three year olds love acting out nursery rhymes and songs. Four and five year olds have a blast with stories and fun games. Happy Feet aims to initiate a love for soccer while teaching the most basic skills.
Join SK teacher, ChaToya Hayden for a week of Royal Ballet. Not only will students feel celebrated and treated like princes and princesses for the week, but students will learn the five positions of ballet and gain basic knowledge of ballet movements.
Come join us for a fun week of slime making! From butter slime to a 10 pound slime, we’re going to do it all. Students will take home a new slime everyday. We hope you'll join us!
Join Head Coach Kyle Slatery, assistant coaches, current varsity lacrosse players, and alumni for an exciting week of lacrosse. Whether you are new to lacrosse or an experienced player, this camp promises to provide an experience that is sure to develop individual skills, knowledge of the game, and love for the sport. Players will need a lacrosse stick, gloves, shoulder pads, arm pads, helmet, mouth guard, and cleats. We will provide water, Gatorade, practice pinnies, and snacks for the week.
Don’t just play video games, learn how to make them! Campers will create and design their own PC based video game. They will make 2 games including a multi-level game. They will learn to code objects with events and actions, design a room to make it look the way they want and make a game with health, lives and scoring. Campers will take home their games on a CD at the end of the week.

We'll practice perseverance with The Little Engine that Could by building and rebuilding incredibly high towers. Play-based and literature-based learning combine to ensure that your child experiences an exciting week of personal growth alongside The Grouchy Ladybug, Penelope Rex, and many more!
Combine your two favorite sports—soccer and basketball—into one great week! Campers will learn the basic skills and introduce strategies for both soccer and basketball in a fun-filled environment. The game is one of the best teachers so campers at every session will participate in small-sided soccer and basketball games, as well as fun drills and lead-up games. The ultimate goal of this camp is to help develop each player’s confidence with the ball and a love of soccer and basketball.
This camp is designed for those players looking to take their game to the next level. The primary goal of this camp is to elevate the skills, offensive and defensive techniques, and tactical awareness of each player. Daily training will include individual fundamentals, game-related skills, and game play. Shooting, passing, dribbling, heading, and ball control will be covered while working in many competitive situations. Offensive and defensive tactical sessions will be taught through 1v1, 2v1, 2v2, etc. situations. The final hour of each day, Futsal will be played in the gym. The focus will be on faster play, creating movement and space, and a more demanding technical challenge.
This camp is for those players who want to set the tone for the summer and get an early start on the fall season. The goal of this camp is to prepare each player technically, tactically, and physically for the demands of the upcoming high school season through, 6 v 6 competitions, small-sided games, agility/speed/endurance training, shooting and competitive drills. This will be a fast paced two hours of preparation for the game you love! The high school season starts four months from the end of this camp, so prepare NOW, and be ready for the challenges ahead.

Campers will learn the fundamentals of football as it relates to their desired positions in a fun environment, We will emphasize character growth and development in addition to football skills and drills to play the game in the right way. We will offer healthy, fun football activities, and many opportunities to build new friendships. Athletes should bring cleats, sneakers, and a water bottle.
Join us in the Innovation Lab as we build robots using the Vex IQ system. We will work in groups to build different robots using the snap-together pieces. Vex IQ kits contain motors, a brain, a controller that moves the robot similar to a video game, and sensors that can detect walls, measure distance, detect color, measure light and much more! There are so many things we can do with these robots, we will have all week to put our ideas into action. Class size has a strict limit due to the number of kits available. Register early!
All princesses are invited to join fourth grade teacher, Dixon Allen, for a week of total pampering. From making bath bombs to getting manicures and applying face masks, campers will leave camp refreshed and relaxed each day. Battlebots camp will allow students the opportunity to design, build, program and control their own battlebot and compete in head-to -head competitions. Students will work with multiple types of bots for their competitions and challenges each day of camp. Engineers will pound, smash, flip, rip, and destroy their opponents bot. Bring your game face…. winner takes all!!
Calling all little scientists! Campers we’ll spend the week performing hand-ons experiments, learning about different colors and textures along the way. Our little scientists will use water, baking soda, shaving cream, and more to swirl, whirl, dip, and mix. Your students will be amazed how ordinary objects can change during a science experiment. Don’t forget to bring your thinking hat!

Beginning paleontologists learn about dinosaurs and the techniques used in extracting fossils in this hands-on class. Go on your own fossil dig, analyze and assemble skeleton pieces, produce a fossil reconstruction, create a mural, use iPads to learn more about dinosaurs… and take home lots of cool dinosaur daily projects!

Strawberries, tomatoes, squash, beans, and many more foods are grown in the gardens at St. George’s. We’ll visit the three campus gardens and campers can take home a fresh harvest after each visit. In addition to harvesting fresh organic produce, we’ll engineer a new irrigation system, plant seeds that love the hot days of summer, and discuss why our bodies need a variety of fruits and vegetables. Let us show you how fun and rewarding gardening can be!
For one week children ages 6-11 get their groove on and work on moves to make them a hip hop star. Dancing to the likes of Ariana Grande, Shawn Mendes, and other popular artists dancers will have a fun time learning new choreography each day! At the end of camp, campers will come together to make a dance music video DVD to take home with them.

Join St. George’s coaches and varsity players for lacrosse camp! Our goal is to improve personal and team skills, while still having a lot of fun! Younger players and beginners will learn basic skills - throwing and catching, ground balls, player positions, and team skills. Older, more experienced players will improve skills through scrimmage, non-dominant hand practice, and defensive/offensive positioning. Players will need a lacrosse stick, goggles, and a mouth guard (we have a few extra sticks if your daughter is trying out the sport).
Two robots are twice as fun as one. Campers will use the both the Lego Mindstorms NXT as well as the Dash robot to learn to program and code. They will build the Lego Mindstorms NXT and use sensors to complete various challenges including robot Sumo. With the Dash robot, campers will compete in robot soccer and the catapult challenge.
3,2,1...Blast off! Young astronauts will have a blast in our out of this world summer camp. Campers will build and explore life in outer space with Legos, K’Nex, magnets, and other hands-on tools. Imaginations will soar as we explore the solar system together. Grab your needle and thread because we are “SEW” happy for your budding seamstress to join us each day as we explore the basics of sewing. Your child will design and create a variety of hands-on projects throughout the week of camp. We provide all fabrics, sewing machines, and supplies, you just bring the creativity. All of our projects enforce STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) which provides an invisible learning experience while having “SEW” much fun. Get ready to stir up some fun! During our week’s adventure, campers will learn through hands-on cooking, journaling, and craft activities. When we are not busy in the kitchen, we’ll be sifting our sillies out through group games and time outside. This week is sure to be DELICIOUS!
This camp is great opportunity for students to be introduced to the game of softball. Students will learn the fundamentals of throwing, hitting, fielding, base running, and position play. Camp will be a lot of fun, but will also help players grown in their experience and confidence in playing the game.
This camp is great space for students who are new to the game of softball or who are returning players. Students will learn and improve in the fundamentals of throwing, hitting, fielding, base running, and position play. This camp will continue to introduce them to softball and will prepare them for middle school play.
This camp is a great way for students to train for any sport! Students will work on speed technique and proper form, and will do drills to increase stride length and frequency. This training will prepare athletes for real time speed that will carry over to competition.
Yoga and mindfulness camp will teach children body and breath awareness. Children will learn how to move their bodies in safe ways, find their breath when they are outside their comfort zones, and focus on how they feel in their bodies instead of what they look like. We will learn calming techniques, how to move between activity and stillness, and teamwork through group poses. We will learn how to let our good qualities make the world a happier, healthier place. Each day will have a designated time for journaling and/or yoga-inspired art. Campers will leave with a solid yoga foundation of basic poses, a flow, and breathing and meditation techniques.
Follow us to the end of the rainbow, where we will explore all of the fun and fascinating colors that make up our world! We will conduct many science experiments - a fizzing rainbow with baking soda and vinegar is just one on our list! We will learn the difference between primary and secondary colors, and how they are created. We will also go on a scavenger hunt and will be surprised by how much ordinary objects differ in color. To end the week, we will participate in a Color Fun Run on the field, where we will be covered with different colors at stations along our run.
Young innovators interested in building and programming robots will get an introduction to the creative and collaborative process of VEX IQ robotics. This camp is suitable for those just beginning their journey into robotics and programming as well as those who have some experience. Campers will create robots to handle various challenges, such as stacking objects and completing a maze.

Calling all animal lovers! Come and explore different types of animals with first grade teacher, Sarah Lin. From learning about service animals to caring for the famous guinea pig “Gryphon,” this is a week you don’t want to miss! We’ll even have visits from a few surprise guests – animals and people alike!

Mix it, make it, try it out and take it home! This hands-on ALL GIRLS camp uses Spa activities to showcase Science and Art. Girls will make Fizzy Bath Bombs, Sweet Lip Smackers, Yummy Face Masks and more. They’ll become clever spa scientists for the week as they learn about ingredients and how to combine them to make fun (and fabulous!) pampering goodies. Each day will also include a daily Spa craft. They will experiment with packaging and naming their concoctions in this spa-chemistry exploration — the end of the week is “Spa Pajama Day,” where girls sample and share what they have made while wearing their favorite comfy pjs! If you are interested in cooking, learning about different cultures and their food, or picking up a new skill sure to impress your whole family, this is a great fit for you. Students will learn about and make food from around the world, and we’ll eat together. Sounds delicious!

This camp is for beginner and intermediate level players. During the course of this camp, the varsity coaching staff will cover passing, setting, hitting, serving, and defensive and offensive systems. Players will have the opportunity to develop skills and play in games as well as engage in game-like situations.
Who said that Christmas can come only once a year? Join us for a week of wintery activities in the heat of the summer! You’ll be feeling the Christmas spirit as we decorate gingerbread houses, read Christmas books, and even sing some Christmas carols and watch Christmas movies. Join Mrs. Winstead in a week of Christmas activities including stories, crafts, and games. Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas in July! This camp also even includes a surprise field trip!
RRRRRRRRRRRROAR…. join us on an unforgettable Jurassic Lego Adventure!! Our campers will dive into the world of paleontology through design, building, coding, programming, crafts, and more. Our camp incorporates STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) through hands-on Lego robotic challenges, builds, puzzles, and games. We will build and study a variety of dinosaurs, such as, Stegosaurus, Triceratops, T-Rex, Pteranodon, Dimetrodon, just to name a few. Join us as we time warp into the Prehistoric world of Dino Techno this summer!

This is a great camp for students who are interested in continuing to grow in their tennis skills and for those who are just beginning the sport. Coach Mark Bran will teach the basics to beginners and will help current players to advance their game. We know that this camp will be a HIT!
Drum instructor Andrew Hatfield will coach drummers who wish to participate in the Lower School Drum Brigade for the 2019-20 school year. Campers will learn about reading and playing drum rhythms, stick control, rudiments, proper technique, and teamwork. During the regular school year, the drum brigade will continue to learn and practice once a week after school. They will perform at various functions and activities, including open houses, Tough Enough, the talent show, and sporting events. To be a member of the group, students must participate in this camp. Bring a snack and water bottle. We’ll provide students with a drum (size and sound appropriate), a drum carrier, and drumsticks to use for the season.
Attention! Left, right, left, right, left, right! This bootcamp is sure to shape up the coolest coder in your family. Campers do not need any previous coding skills to be a successful bootcamp participant. We will work on topics such as binary coding, coding robots, coding games, coding each other to move, Morse code, and more. Campers will work on daily coding projects and work with multiple types of robots. Students will use programmable floor robots, AGV robots, and Lego robots throughout the week. Creativity and engineering skills will be sharpened, along with all activities being STEM based each day. These experiences are designed to build interest, knowledge, and technical skills the campers can take with them into the classroom and beyond. So register today...sir, yes, sir!

This camp will help your child get a “jumpstart” on their PK year. Students will participate in a variety of activities that will help prepare them for their pre-kindergarten year at St. George’s. PK curriculum and procedures, arts and crafts, literacy, music, and movement will be included. What to bring: A snack and water bottle. Wear tennis shoes and comfortable clothes.
