As an outstanding college preparatory school, St. George’s is committed to preparing students for college, career and a life lived bravely and beautifully. Our dedicated team of College Guidance counselors offers assistance and guidance to students, beginning in Middle School, so they are fully engaged in their education and families know best how to support them. The strength of our process lies in knowing each student and their family so that we may provide a personalized approach to navigating the complexities of the college search process. And, of course, we are always here to offer support and encouragement throughout their journey to find the “right fit” college environment.
College Guidance has an open-door policy, allowing students to drop in with questions or concerns throughout their day. In the fall and in the spring, College Guidance meets with students in each grade to ensure they are knowledgeable about college options and the search process while also providing a place to answer any questions they might have. Throughout the year, more than 100 colleges and universities visit our campus (in-person or virtually) to meet with students. All students in grades 9-12 are welcome to attend individual college visits and our mini college fairs.

St. George’s uses SCOIR, a dynamic and visual college search, selection and application tool for families. Colleges come to life through pictures, videos and links highlighting active student clubs and organizations, which enables students to identify colleges that are a good fit with their personal and academic interests. SCOIR also provides parents with useful calculators to determine the financial investment at different colleges. These features, along with more convenient scheduling and communication tools, help keep everyone informed and engaged throughout the college application process in order to achieve the most positive outcomes.
