Board of Trustees 2019-2020
The role of the St. George's Board of Trustees is to lead the school strategically to ensure the viability of its mission and the school’s overall sustainability. Our three campuses, located in Germantown, Memphis and Collierville, are governed in accordance with its Charter of Incorporation and governed by a single board of trustees.
Asa Toney
Ex-Officio, Young Alumnus
Asa Toney is an Associate Attorney at Farris Bobango, PLC, where his practice is concentrated in the areas of Transactional Law and Economic Development. He graduated from Maryville University of St. Louis, in 2014, with a major in Legal Studies and minor in Business Administration. He was also a member of the Men’s basketball team during his four years at Maryville. Mr. Toney returned to Memphis prior to entering law school at the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphrey’s School of Law where he matriculated in 2018. Mr. Toney decided to join the St. George’s community in 8th grade after spending time at the school where his mother, Yolanda Toney, taught high school English for several years. Asa graduated from St. George’s in 2010 and was a member of the first Basketball State Championship team in school history. Mr. Toney also helped St. George’s to their second Basketball State Championship as an assistant coach in 2015. Mr. Toney is engaged to Dr. Mallory Shanahan, and he has one son, a beautiful black lab, Maverick. The couple attends Germantown United Methodist, where Mr. Toney has
been a member since his childhood, as well as First United Methodist downtown Memphis.
