Rheagan Rutledge Harris '91

What year did you graduate from St. George's?
1991 (sixth grade)
Where did you go to college?
Mississippi State University, BBA and MBA
Where do you live now?
Germantown, TN
What are you doing now?
I am married to Philip Harris and so lucky to be a stay-at-home mom to Austin (age 6) and Blake (age 4)
How did SGIS prepare or not prepare you for college, career, life?
I enjoyed working in the accounting/hedge fund industry from 2002-2009 after earning my MBA. The study techniques and foundation of "people" skills I learned at SGIS made my continuing education and career much more successful. Not to sound too cliché', I also know that learning to allow God to "be the difference in my choices" has helped me tremendously, and is something I am instilling in my children as well.
What is your favorite memory of being at St. George’s?
The trips... Land Between the Lakes, Cumberland Caverns, Biloxi, and the "If everyone lit just one little candle" part of the Christmas Program
How do you stay connected with St. George’s now?
Through my children…I love having the opportunity to be involved in their classroom to get the chance to know their teachers and friends. In addition, serving on the Parents Association provides a great chance to give back and make wonderful new friends myself.
What advice would you give to St. George’s students or young alumni today?
To understand that while the academic aspect is very important, it is the character that one builds that will help you to succeed most in life.
Is there anything else that you would like to share in this alumni profile?
The biggest compliment I can give to St.George’s and its amazing teachers is that I have entrusted you with my greatest joy, my children. I thank my parents for giving me this opportunity and feel very blessed to be able to do so for my son and daughter as well.
