What year did you graduate from St. George’s?
2009
Where did you go to college?
I attended Wesleyan University in Middletown, CT.
Where do you live and what is your profession?
I currently live in Memphis, TN and serve as the Program Fellow for The Memphis Challenge, which is a non-profit that coaches high-achieving, underrepresented students, through leadership and professional development, preparing them to become future Memphis leaders.
Tell us about a time in college or the workplace where you felt better prepared due to your St. George’s experience.
I can remember working on my midterm paper for my cultural anthropology class during the first semester of my freshman year. It required quite a bit of citing. In that moment, I was thankful to have really honed my citing skills with my Senior Independent Study (SIS) research paper. It saved me from a great deal of stress.
Did St. George’s encourage you to take healthy risks and step outside of your comfort zone?
Absolutely! Since I transferred to St. George’s my junior year, I think my entire junior year was made up of me stepping outside of my comfort zone. As a result of me stepping outside of my comfort zone, I was able to make new friends and thrive as a member of the St. George’s community.
What is your favorite St. George’s memory?
My favorite St. George’s memory is our junior trip to Team Trek. From the snow to the team building activities (specifically the high ropes course), it was an amazing trip.
What advice would you give to St. George’s students or young alumni today?
Enjoy the moment! Bask in the present, because time definitely flies. Before you know it, you will be graduating from high school and/or college. Once a moment has passed, it has passed. So, take advantage of every opportunity and create lasting memories.
