MLA Style Guide
At Saint George's Collierville, all research papers and bibliographies are written following MLA guidelines. MLA stands for Modern Language Association, an organization dedicated to the study and teaching of language and literature. To learn more about MLA, click here to access their website, or check out the MLA Handbook, 6th edition (REF 808.027 M6859 2003) from the McClain Library.
To format a MLA citation, you must carefully arrange each source's bibliographic elements to match the forms dictated by the Modern Language Association. To see examples of citations, click here. This link will take you to the McClain Library's crib sheet on MLA.
OWL at Purdue University offers some great advice on how to set up a paper in MLA, and how to format basic bibliographic citations. They also provide Microsoft Word templates for MLA format.
As always, feel free to ask Mr. Covington or Mrs. Allison for help on writing a works cited page.
