Evaluation of Information Sources

There is not just one right source of information.  You, as a researcher, must determine which sources to use by evaluating the following characteristics of a research resource:

·         Accuracy

·         Timeliness

·         Reliability

·         Ease of use

·         Availability

·         Content

·         Authority

For a great handout on how to effective evaluate the truthfulness of sources, check out the McClain Library's evaluation guidelines .
