Middle School (Grades 6-8)

Our middle school builds on the goals and mission of the lower school by fostering academic excellence and character education. By creating a secure, stable, and respectful environment, students are able to take healthy risks, try something new, and build relationships with their peers and teachers. We encourage students to express ideas important to them and to become confident and independent problem solvers who know how to be active and responsible citizens.

A strong middle school program is dependent on its teachers, and I feel honored to work with teachers who truly love the middle school child. If there is one encompassing question that connects middle school faculty and staff in their work at St. George's, it is the desire to help our students answer the essential middle school question: Who am I? Our faculty is committed to nurturing each child academically, socially, and emotionally to help them achieve their personal and academic goals. It is our desire to help students develop a better understanding of their gifts and talents and how they help strengthen our entire community.

I encourage you to browse our website and learn more about the ways in which St. George’s can help your child develop a lifelong love of learning. However, the website can only give you a small taste of the St. George’s experience. There is something to be said for coming on campus and spending the day immersed in our day-to-day life, witnessing teachers and students engaged in meaningful work together. Please make time to experience more of SGIS. Our doors are always open!

Sincerely,

Traci Osterhagen-Brock
