Graphing Calculators
Students, TI- 84 graphing calculators will be used frequently in this
course. In order to ensure you do not lose your calculators, you will
be required to write your name on your calculator. Having your name
written on your calculator will ensure that it can be properly returned
to you if misplaced. You will only be allowed to use your own
calculator on assessments. You will not be allowed to borrow a peer's
calculator . Please be sure to speak to me if you have any problems.

Homework Expectations
Remember that you are to:
1. Write the facts and question.
2. Draw the sketch of the figure.
3. Show your work and process for solving the problem.
4. Circle your answers (particulary numeric)

Note-taking hints
- Read the section before taking any notes
- After you have read the section, re-read and take notes.
- Use abbreviations (that you understand) to help save time, do not write every word – this is important during lectures also.
- Define vocabulary words and give a clarifying example, which may be a picture. (you may want to include a pg. number as well)
- The information in the Know it! Notes are important, write them down.
- Note the key ideas within paragraphs.
- Be sure to read the Helpful Hints and Caution boxes, they contain important information.
