Approach to Learning

The faculty at St. George’s Independent School is dedicated to the belief that learning is a lifelong endeavor that enriches and provides substance to one's life. To that end, St. George's is a preparatory school for college and for life beyond college.

Learning at St. George’s is holistic, addressing the needs of the whole child, including mind, body, and spirit. We believe that academic success, while important, should not be the only result of a quality education, but that students should be prepared to go into the world to make a difference. Spiritual reflection, service learning, and the development of moral character therefore form a critical part of our curriculum. Close partnerships between home and school also support and strengthen this approach.

We also believe in having fun! Students of all ages enjoy unique trips and traditions that provide camaraderie and lasting friendships.
